The final book in the New York Times bestselling trilogy, perfect for fans of Battlestar Gallactica and Prometheus!

Amy and Elder have finally left the oppressive walls of the spaceship Godspeed behind. They’re ready to start life afresh–to build a home–on Centauri-Earth, the planet that Amy has traveled 25 trillion miles across the universe to experience.

But this new Earth isn’t the paradise Amy had been hoping for. There are giant pterodactyl-like birds, purple flowers with mind-numbing toxins, and mysterious, unexplained ruins that hold more secrets than their stone walls first let on. The biggest secret of all? Godspeed’s former passengers aren’t alone on this planet. And if they’re going to stay, they’ll have to fight.

Amy and Elder must race to discover who–or what–else is out there if they are to have any hope of saving their struggling colony and building a future together. They will have to look inward to the very core of what makes them human on this, their most harrowing journey yet. Because if the colony collapses? Then everything they have sacrificed–friends, family, life on Earth–will have been for nothing.

FUELED BY LIES.
RULED BY CHAOS.
ALMOST HOME.

I loved everything about Shades of Earth.

Seriously, this is the one book you’d not want to miss!  And if you haven’t even begun reading Across the Universe,  you need to make room in your schedule to start reading it.  I. Am. Serious.  If I can command a genie to do my bidding, I’d request every household to own a copy of this series.  Why?  Because this series is absolutely AMAZING!

In Shades of Earth , Amy, Elder and many passengers of Godspeed arrive on Centauri-Earth to start a new life.  What they don’t expect is the risks and many dangers that they encounter on the planet.  Can they find a way to co-exist with the sentient beings that are already living on Centauri-Earth?

This book is filled with mysteries.  There is always something that made me keep guessing.  Just when I thought I got something figured out, there would be something new, something unexpected that propelled me to flip the pages.  I was so eager to see what could be going on that before I knew it, my alarm went beeping.  Although I didn’t sleep, I was not tired.  Each sentence, each paragraph, each chapter fueled me with bursts of excitement and awe that I refused to envision the worst-case scenario for any of the main characters.  Even when something dear and precious is destroyed, I refused to give up hope.  Even when many are killed, I trembled but did my best to not scream out loud.  And when Amy and Elder hit the bottom and feel like they have no more options, I cried but refused to dwell in the never-ending misery.  In the end, I didn’t want the story to end and when I had no more pages to flip, I pulled out Across the Universe  and re-acquainted with Amy from the very beginning.

Truly a page-turner,  Shades of Earth  offers mystery, excitement and a touch of romance that makes my heart melt.  I love this series and I know I’ll be re-reading the books again and again!
