After her mysterious disappearance, everyone thought that the six years old, Anne Marie Bordoleau, was one of the victims of the “animal” attacks that were terrorizing New Orleans. Only her big sister, Rose, thought otherwise, because of the terrible visions she had at night where Anne called her for help. Looking for Anne does not prove to be easy. There are secrets revealed, ancient prophecies, and legends. It’s a dark world, where even angels can fall.
How can Rose save her sister from the evil, if her sister is the evil itself?
Today, I’m going to share an excerpt from the book, The Demon Child.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading the excerpt.

As Billy was telling her the story, Rose suddenly felt cold … she lost her sight and she couldn’t hear anything. She saw Anne again. This time the girl was scared to death and was looking at Rose terrified.
-Please Anne, don’t go.
-I don’t have time Rose. When she will find out that I am communicating with you, she will be angry.
-Anne, please tell me where are you? I will come and get you! -said Rose.
-I can’t Rose, I just can’t. I won’t curse your life, because mine is already cursed.
-Anne, please listen to me honey, please tell me where are you going?
-No, I just want to tell you that I love you so much …
The vision of Anne disappeared, but Rose faintly heard the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
Rose opened her eyes to find Billy and Sarah really worried.
-What did you see? -asked Sarah.
-I am not sure, but I think I heard the sound of waves.
-That means that she is somewhere near water. Come on, let’s go and check, but first hold these. -Billy handed the girls garlic and crosses.
The three friends opened the door of the castle and they were surprised to see that it was dark outside. They entered in the car. Rose’s head was exploding from her thoughts and fears. When they arrived at the sea, they didn’t find anyone. They decided to split up and to look for Anne. But behind the bushes Rose saw Anne’s pale face.
-Anne, honey … you are here …
-Rose, please forgive me for what I did! l didn’t want to, but she ordered me … -the little girl was shaking and crying …
-Anne … honey, come on. – Rose was crying too.
Anne disappeared and Rose started running.
-ANNE! -she called.
Rose kept running, but she abruptly fell down. She found herself on top of a woman’s unmoving body. Rose put the fingers on her neck to check her pulse, but suddenly, the woman opened her eyes and put her hands on Rose’s throat, opening her mouth and showing her sharp teeth. Rose screamed, but nobody could help her there.
